Loosely based on a true news story of New Jersey mass-murderer John List. This DVD's release of the original 1987 movie in Oct. 2009 corresponds to the theatrical release of a new version of the Stepfather updating the story in light of List's 1989 capture.

Description
A man searching for the perfect family marries a widow with children, only to kill them all when they act more normal than his dream family should. When his new stepdaughter sees through his fake persona, he must drop his Ward Cleaver attitude and show her how a real daughter should act.
